The customer contacted SIA Unitruck with a problem – an engine defect. The truck – a MAN TGA 26.400 dump truck was brought to the Unitruck service in C\u0113sis in a rigid coupling. <\/p>\n\n
When removing the engine crankcase, a defectation was made, the conclusion was that the teeth of the engine oil pump gear had broken, which resulted in the loss of oil pressure. As a result of the reduced (non-existent) oil pressure, not only the crankshaft plain bearings were damaged, but also the engine crankshaft itself. In addition, the entire lubrication system, the lubrication channels were full of metal shavings from the oil pump and other damaged parts. Without risking any more critical engine damage, the decision was made to replace the entire engine. <\/p>\n\n
Purchasing a new engine would be expensive, thus Unitruck masters, undertook to evaluate the availability and quality of used MAN engines and order them from a used engine sales company.<\/p>\n\n
In addition to delivering the engine, Unitruck service also performed a high-quality engine installation on the truck. The work was carried out by assessing the technical condition of each engine-mounted unit (generator, starter, compressor). <\/p>\n\n
This work is a good demonstration of the abilities of Unitruck service professionals, both in identifying the problem and its cause, and in finding a non-standard solution to provide the client with a well-thought-out and justified work result.<\/p>\n\n
