Last week, UNITRUCK welcomed more than twenty insurance professionals from EURORISK for a practical training day on Automatic Fire Suppression Systems (AFSS) — their operating principles and applications.

The main goal of the training was to provide an in-depth understanding of fire detection and suppression principles, as well as to give insight into the technical solutions currently available on the market.
This knowledge helps insurance professionals better assess risks and choose the most suitable systems to protect their clients’ valuable assets — especially when operating under heavy loads, in dusty environments, or other high fire-risk conditions.

Practical Knowledge in a Real Environment

The event was initiated by Elza from EURORISK, while the UNITRUCK team prepared a program including presentations, live demonstrations, and an open discussion — led by our engineer and product specialist, Klāvs Vabulnieks.

Among the participants were both insurance brokers and risk engineers who aimed to deepen their understanding of AFSS design, operation, and the differences between various systems.
The seminar also covered the key factors to consider when choosing a system supplier: product certification, installer qualification, component quality, delivery times, and warranty conditions.

From Theory to Proven Results — Live Fire Demonstrations

The most anticipated part of the day was, of course, the live fire demonstrations.

The first test simulated an electrical cabinet fire.
The cabinet, equipped with a REACTON Direct NOVEC 1230 system, automatically activated when internal components ignited and successfully suppressed the flames within seconds — leaving no damage to the equipment or the environment.

The second demonstration was even more impressive — a diesel engine fire simulation.
For this purpose, a diesel internal combustion engine was mounted on a dedicated frame and fitted with a REACTON suppression system.
Once the engine ignited, the system reacted instantly and effectively extinguished the flames, demonstrating its rapid response and proving how essential properly installed automatic suppression systems are.

The EURORISK participants were very active — asking detailed questions, sharing their experience, and following the demonstrations with great interest.
After the presentations, the atmosphere was relaxed and positive — several attendees jokingly asked, “So, where are our certificates after such a training day?” 😊

Such feedback clearly shows that technical, hands-on training provides real value — helping insurance professionals and risk specialists better understand the technology and offer more precise and higher-quality advice to their clients when choosing fire protection systems.

Training That Builds Trust

At UNITRUCK, we believe that true safety and reliability come only through understanding what lies behind the certifications, components, and technical design of a system.

That’s why we are committed to continuing this educational approach – sharing our knowledge and experience through similar seminars. 2026. In 2026, we plan to hold 3–4 such eventsaimed at serious professional groups who wish to gain practical and realistic insight into how automatic fire suppression systems operate.
