Unitruck is a significant partner of the Latvian defense industry, owning a 30% stake in the company “Defence Partnership Latvia”.
It was founded in 2020 as a result of cooperation between the Finnish and Latvian Ministries of Defense, when Latvia joined the CAVS (“Common Armoured Vehicle System”) program, led by the Finnish military production company “Patria Group”. “Defence Partnership Latvia” was established together with “Patria Latvia”, a subsidiary of “Patria Group”, and with “Unitruck”, a local capital company from Cēsis.
Initially, “Defence Partnership Latvia” operated in Cēsis, on the territory of “Unitruck”, where “Patria 6x6” armored personnel carriers were assembled for the Latvian Army.
In May 2024, a modern production facility was opened in Valmiera, which not only significantly increases production, but also tests, repairs and maintains the machinery.
