In September 2026, Auto STRO, a company based in Tukums, Latvia, approached Unitruck to find a timber trailer suited to its day-to-day operational needs. Drawing on its previous experience and preference for timber trailers with drum brakes, the customer had a clear idea of the technical specifications required.
Unitruck team listened to the customer’s requirements, presented the available solutions and selected a three-axle Närko timber trailer with drum brakes, configured to meet Auto STRO’s needs.
A timber trailer configuration tailored to the customer’s needs
When choosing a timber trailer, its technical specifications are only part of the equation. The ability to tailor the equipment to the specific vehicle and the demands of everyday operations is equally important.
Auto STRO selected the following configuration:
- Three-axle Närko timber trailer with drum brakes – a solution that matches the customer’s experience and technical preferences.
- Customised trailer drawbar – designed to suit the timber truck’s coupling with a 57 mm towing eye.
- Black Alucar Eagle 75 steel bunks – colour-matched to the timber truck, with an internal distance of 2,370 mm between the stakes.
- TireBoss tyre pressure monitoring system – in cooperation with SIA Jāde, the axle holes were precisely prepared to accommodate the system.
This configuration combines the customer’s preferred braking system with carefully selected equipment and technical solutions tailored to its specific requirements.
Närko timber trailers stand out in the market for three key reasons:
- A robust steel frame: The thick steel frame features bolted rather than welded crossmembers, helping to extend the trailer’s service life, even under particularly demanding operating conditions.
- A next-generation electrical distribution box: This provides a clear wiring diagram showing the location and function of individual cables, making it easier to diagnose potential faults quickly. Each side of the trailer and each lighting function—including fog lights, reversing lights and brake lights—is identified separately.
- Strong resale value: Närko trailers have long been associated with quality and durability in European markets, helping them retain their value on the second-hand market.
Attractive financing terms and warranty
To make the purchase more accessible, Unitruck, in cooperation with Luminor Leasing, offered a subsidised leasing rate of 0.99% plus EURIBOR. This gave the customer the opportunity to purchase the trailer under specially offered financing terms.
For additional peace of mind, all Närko timber trailers come with a one-year warranty.

Flexibility to meet every customer’s needs
In addition to offering robust trailers, Närko provides the flexibility to meet the requirements of professionals across the forestry industry.
Available customisation options include:
- Custom trailer frame length – during 2026, we have prepared offers for customers requiring trailer frame lengths ranging from 6,300 mm to as much as 6,900 mm.
- SAF or BPW axles with disc or drum brakes – every forestry professional has their own experience-based preferences when it comes to axle configuration and brake type.
- Customised lighting, coupling and air suspension positioning, along with other solutions that allow customers to configure a Närko timber trailer specifically for their operational needs.
