Unitruck is launching the development of an innovative 4×4 high-mobility vehicle prototype with an adaptable design for dual use — civilian and defense applications. The project is aimed at advancing technology, strengthening engineering capacity, and engaging local industry.
A transport platform will be developed that is suitable for operation in challenging conditions and intended for localized production. It aligns with the RIS3 priority “Smart Materials, Technologies and Engineering Systems.”
The project’s total eligible costs amount to EUR 709,809.47, of which:
- ERDF funding: EUR 278,032.74
- State budget co-financing: EUR 49,064.60
- Project applicant co-financing: EUR 382,712.13, to be covered from the company’s own funds.
The expected impact on the economy is a locally developed defense platform that reduces dependence on external suppliers, promotes the development of local supply chains, provides a foundation for export potential, and strengthens strategic autonomy.
The project implementer — Unitruck Ltd. — will involve local specialists (engineers, mechanics, automotive electricians, and logistics experts) in the project’s execution.
The planned project duration is 12 months, with the first 6 months dedicated to the development of technical documentation, and the remaining months allocated for prototype assembly and testing. Activities are scheduled to begin prior to the contract signing. The project is set to run from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026.
