At the end of March we successfully installed the Reacton Fire Suppression CLASS automatic fire suppression system on a Lexion 660 combine harvester!
How does it work? Unitruck SIA technicians assess the most important risks by inspecting the equipment in the field. Based on the identified risks, the location of the system elements is planned. The SPCR 199 compliant system consists of two fire suppression agents – ABC powder and Freefor 15 foam. In this case 9 + 9 kg. The quantity depends on the model of the equipment.
No external energy sources are needed to trigger the system – the detection line, which is located in the engine room of the machinery and in risk areas, is filled with nitrogen pressure and melts when exposed to heat. As the nitrogen pressure drops, the suppressant cylinders open – the powder rapidly smothers the flames, while the foam cools the hot surfaces to prevent the risk of reignition from areas such as turbochargers, exhaust manifolds, etc.
A fire suppression system provides additional safety by eliminating fire risks and ensuring that your employees, machinery and crops are protected from unwanted accidents.
